There are two pieces of assessment in the International Funders' Award. The first is to recognise any prior learning that you have undertaken in the topics that we cover in the Award. You may choose not to submit any prior learning for assessment and proceed with the whole programme. Submission of prior learning may entitle you to exemptions from the modules in the programme, and our Learning Advisors will inform you of this.
Completion of the International Funders' Award is via the Work-based activity module. We ask you to apply your learning to a scenario and complete a reflective piece. All the details can be found on your dashboard under Complete the award. Successful completion of the Work-based activity module will generate a Certificate of Completion of the International Funders' Award.
If you have purchased a module in error and you wish to cancel your purchase of the module within 14 days of purchase, you will be entitled to a full refund.
You also have the right to cancel your purchase of a module at any time before you first access the online learning or other module resources, and you will receive a full refund of any fees you have paid.
Even if you are not eligible for a refund of the purchase price, you may still cancel your purchase of a module.

We provide access to an ePortfolio tool, PebblePad, for you to complete the assessment requirements of the International Funders' Award. For easier access, this separate tool is linked to your account, but it does open in the same browser window. Opening the link in a separate browser tab or window will make it easier to navigate back to the learning.
You can access PebblePad from the main link at the top of each page. If you register on Recognising prior learning and/or Work-based activity, your PebblePad account will be populated with the appropriate workbook to enable you to complete the assessment.
Each learning module has an associated forum. This is for you and other researchers to share ideas about the module and to set up self-help networks if you wish. The forum will be moderated, but only to remove inappropriate messaging and behaviour or to provide additional guidance where necessary.
Please bear in mind that individuals can start and finish the modules at any time so the number engaged in the learning will vary at any one time.
The whole of the International Funders' Award should take you no more than 75 hours of study. We recommend you structure your learning around three hours per week, thereby making the whole programme about six months long. If you only need to study three modules due to your prior experience and learning, it will take you a lot less time.
Each module has a guide as to how long it should take to study, but this assumes you do put in time to try and reflect on the activities we have designed.
You have received this email because someone in your organisation would like to help manage your learning with you (see Organisational manager).
If you agree to creating this relationship, use the link in the email to consent. If you do not wish to be linked, you may ignore the email but we advise you first speak to the person who has requested the link.
Expert advice is available to help you with any problems that you may experience in understanding the module material, accessing the available resources or completing the Work-based activity. This is delivered by our Learning Advisors.
You can contact a Learning Advisor at any time by sending a message to IFA-Learning-Advisor@open.ac.uk and you can expect a reply within 48 hours.
Any contact that you make is seen only by a Learning Advisor, whose reply is confidential to you.
If you manage the training and development needs of researchers, you can use our administration system to:
Your researchers can continue to manage their own learning, even when linked to your account.
To pay for each learning module and assessment, we accept all major credit and debit cards. When you register on a module or an assessment, you are taken to our payment portal to input your details securely. We do not store your credit or debit card details, so you will need to enter them each time.
If you manage the learning of others, you can upgrade your registration to become an Organisational Manager. More details can be found on Managing other people, and as an Organisational Manager you can either pay for each module individually or pre-load your account with a sum of money that you draw down from.
This is our ePortfolio tool, used to help you complete the assessment requirements of the International Funders' Award. PebblePad is an online tool, accessible from particular study activities or you can download the app for offline use. For easier access this separate tool is linked to your account, and will open in the same browser window when you click the link. There is an activity within Get Started to ensure you can access PebblePad from the main navigation.
