The development of the IFA programme has been funded by The Wellcome Trust, a financially and politically independent charitable foundation that is dedicated to improving human health. The funding organisations who have supported the development of this programme believe that enhancing management and leadership skills in research communities will positively impact individuals and their research.

The Open University and Wellcome Trust worked in partnership with the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, Imperial College London, Insitut Pasteur, the Medical Research Council, Researchers 14 (a group of UK universities interested in promoting and developing provision for postdoctoral researchers) and researchers from many institutions to bring this programme of learning in management skills to you.
The programme covers 11 short courses including Budgeting, Communication and Presentation Skills, Cultural Awareness, Resilience and Mentoring.
Within the programme, there is a selection of free learning resources to help you get the most from this programme.
The learning modules are priced individually so you only pay for the learning you need, when you need it. There is no time pressure for you to complete each module.
